Do you have a dream or goal to chase and you are looking to get after it? Perhaps you are going through a tough time? Maybe your life feels like the movie Groundhog's Day? Or there's a chance you are hanging by a thread and feeling overwhelmed. But what is incredible is that somehow you found me, and this community today. I am so excited to be able to lead you through some helpful steps to PURSING YOUR LIFE’S PURPOSE.

I truly believe that our creator has put you on this earth for a purpose. And as I get older I get this gut wrenching feeling that many of us aren’t who God created us to be. I think there is so much untapped potential inside of people who are too afraid to take a chance on themselves. Or frankly their too tired to try because they are bogged down by expectations of others. How many people have a business plan in mind that never sees the light of day? How many charities never get started? How many products could be developed that we’d all be obsessed with? How many people ignore those what ifs, those purposes aching inside them that could change their lives, their families lives, or the lives of others if they gave it some real consideration.
The what if might not be a business plan, maybe it’s singing at your church, volunteering at a women’s shelter, taking the dance class, planting the garden, or breeding sweet puppies. Maybe you’re feeling stuck, unfulfilled, or just seeking more meaning in your life. Maybe you’ve never even given this topic any consideration. Either way, today we are going to explore the journey of discovering and pursuing your life’s true purpose.
Number #1: Defining Purpose
Let’s start by defining what we mean by "purpose." Your purpose is the unique combination of your passions, talents, and values that drive you to make a meaningful impact on the world. It’s not just about what you do, but why you do it. Understanding your true calling can bring clarity and direction to your life, fueling your motivation and increasing your joy. Your WHY is just as important and your purpose. But the bottom line here is it would be such a shame if the world was never given your gift, your purpose. Keep in mind that your purpose is totally a journey and not a destination. I am 38 and still looking for and pursuing my purpose. But I will tell you I plan to leave no rock left unturned though. Once I set my mind on something I want to do, I go after it. Spreading the amount of joy I did, breeding puppies that became family to so many people has been one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done in my life. I had wanted to breed dogs since I was a little girl. This was my first taste of pursuing a what if and it's fueled my fire.
Number #2: Self-Discovery
If you are reading this and are like umm ok I have no freakin' clue what my purpose would be, or you are thinking I don’t have a burning desire. I am here to tell you, you most definitely do. Finding your purpose often begins with self-discovery. So take time to reflect on what truly matters to you. Ask yourself questions like: What am I passionate about? What activities make me lose track of time? What are my core values? Journaling, meditating, and talking to trusted friends or mentors can help you uncover insights about yourself. And remember, as I said, discovering your purpose is a journey, not a destination. The answers to the questions I just mentioned can change overtime or with experience. I absolutely loved breeding pups but found that it was not conducive with the lifestyle I wanted to have with my family. I was missing out on activities and trips up north because I couldn’t leave the house while I had a litter. While I had gained so much joy, I was losing time and opportunities to make great memories with my family which I value most. It was time to reevaluate and pursue a new purpose. Number #3: Overcoming Fear and Doubt
Once you have an idea of your purpose, the next step is to overcome fear and doubt. It’s natural to feel uncertain or afraid when stepping into new territory. Acknowledge these feelings, but don’t let them hold you back. Embrace a growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Surround yourself with positive influences and remind yourself of your strengths and past achievements. You probably have a million reasons why you can’t do it. Not enough time, have kids that come first, financial barriers, too old, the list goes on. I get it, I go through the list of excuses every time I consider embarking on a new project or goal. But you need to ask yourself, what if that thing is on your heart or mind for a reason? What if you are super successful? What if that thing helps someone? What if that thing gives you financial freedom? What if that thing creates the life you want for you and your family?
Let me ask you a very tough question. How much of your life is made up of your own choices and how much of your life is expectations of you? Oooooh I know that one might go off like a bomb in your head as you think about it more and more. But I want it to, I want you to let it sink in and then start unpacking it. Because as women, as mothers there are so many expectations on us. The most basic expectation of being a woman is that we devote our lives to others, isn’t it? Our ultimate goal is to make our spouse, our children, our extended family, and friends all happy. And while that is all important and wonderful, we need to have goals and growth of our own too. Things we are working for to serve and fulfill our own lives.
Let’s start working on limiting expectations. Instead of spending all your time working on what others want or expect from you, start to incorporate what you want to accomplish.
Number #4: Setting Goals
With a clearer sense of purpose, it’s time to set actionable goals. Break down your larger purpose into smaller, achievable steps. Create a plan with specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. This will help you stay focused and track your progress. Celebrate your successes along the way, no matter how small they may seem. Goal setting is a huge topic, and I could spend so much time talking about it. But what I will say is once you set a goal start writing it down. Write it down though as if you’ve already achieved it, then write it down daily. This allows you to begin manifesting the goal. Manifesting eliminates self-doubt because your brain will believe you’ve already done it. You will start to walk the walk and talk the talk, and your purpose will soon be your reality.

Number #5: Embracing Change
Pursuing your purpose often requires embracing change. This might mean stepping out of your comfort zone, changing your career, or letting go of old habits. Be open to new experiences and willing to adapt. I know change can be daunting, but it’s also a powerful catalyst for growth and transformation. And if you aren’t growing you aren’t living.
Number #6: Staying Committed
Stay committed to your purpose and remember it’s a lifelong journey. There will be ups and downs, but persistence is key. Keep revisiting your goals and adjusting them as needed. Stay connected to your passions and values and seek support from others who share your vision. Remember, your purpose is not a fixed point but an evolving path.
I hope this has inspired you to take steps towards discovering and pursuing your life’s purpose. Remember, you have the power to create a meaningful and fulfilling life.
